White vinegar is one of my favorite things. If you’ve ever done a science project you know that vinegar and baking soda can make a volcano erupt!! I’ll bet you’ll be surprised at the other things that white vinegar can do:
Got hard water?
White vinegar can get out hard water with little or no effort. I add a bit to the bottom of my tea kettle at least once a month to make sure there is no hard water residue. Just last night I poured a little into the water dispenser catch tray on my refrigerator and this morning the water stains were history!
Stuck-on Food in the Microwave
Every household has at least one or more family members who refuses to cover food in the microwave and you know what that means? Stuck-on food. Pour a 1-to-1 portion of vinegar and water into a microwave safe bowl, microwave to a boil, and those stuck-on foods will get unstuck.
No more itching
Summer is on the way and with it will come bug bites. While keeping the bugs from biting in the first place is the best prevention, but when that fails – use vinegar. Dab a little at the bite site and the itching will cease.
Extend your nail polish ladies
If you swab your nail beds with vinegar before applying color, you color will last longer. Make sure your 7-day mani/pedi really lasts for 7 whole days!
Keep your veggies colorful
A cap full of vinegar goes a long way. When you boil or steam vibrant colored vegetables (broccoli, beets, etc.) a teaspoon of vinegar will help retain the color, while adding to the flavor too.
