Progresso Recipe Starters - Review & Giveaway (CLOSED)

I pride myself on providing good-tasting, nourishing, meals for my family.  One of the challenges that many moms (including myself) face is trying not to make boring meals, nobody wants to eat the same thing all the time. This was especially challenging for me when my daughter was younger. So when I hear about new products that offer simple mealtime solutions, I want to shout it from the mountain tops!

Progresso (who has been making awesome soups forever) has got a brand new bag - Progresso Recipe Starters Cooking Sauces. These flavorful starter sauces come in five flavors:
  • Creamy Parmesan Basil
  • Creamy Roasted Garlic w/Chicken Stock
  • Fire Roasted Tomato
  • Creamy Portabella Mushroom
  • Creamy Three Cheese
The sauces are based on the "mother" sauces of classical French cooking: Béchemel, Tomato, Velouté, Hollandaise, and Espagnole.

I tried out the Creamy Parmesan Basil sauce. I sauteed shallots and garlic, added cream, and fresh Parmesan. I wasn't that thrilled with how it turned out. I think I should have added more cream and cheese, but less shallots and garlic.

I am going to try to make pot pies for my daughter with the Creamy Roasted Garlic starter.  I'll be sure to post and tell you all about it.

Progresso has a ton of recipes to help you create delicious meals for your family (you don't have to ruin wing it like me).

Buy it: You can find Progresso Recipe Starters at your local market. Click here to download a money saving coupon.

Win it: Have I piqued your curiosity yet? Well I hope so because I'm giving away a prize pack to one lucky winner!
