Strictly Sail Long Beach - Giveaway

There is something so majestic about the ocean. I have always loved the sound, smell, and feel of the water. One of my dear friends is a sailor and I absolutely love going out on her boat. Sailing is pretty darn awesome, but it's a lot of work too!  But when the crew works together everything flows seamlessly.

Strictly Sail Long Beach is a four-day sailing event that shouldn't be missed! From October 18th -October 21st everything you have ever wanted to know about sailing will be on display at Shoreline Village at Rainbow Harbor (in the beautiful Long Beach, CA).

The event will offer:
  • Try it Cove - learn how to paddle board, kayak, canoe, and sail (kids 10 & up and adults)
  • Tours - check out the sailboats and luxury cruisers, inside and out
  • Cruise the harbor - sail around in "Pinky" the honorary sailboat
  • Sailing Simulator - sail a boat, while remaining on dry land
  • Seminars and Clinics - everything from basic to pro

This is a grand opportunity to check out that boat you've been dreaming of your entire life! It doesn't matter if you know a little or a lot about sailing, there is something for every skill level (or no skill at all). Most importantly, this is a great excuse to spend a day soaking up the California sun!

Buy it: Tickets are available on the website or purchase tickets at the box office.

Win it:  I'm giving away a family four-pack of tickets to one lucky winner! Tickets are good for any day of the show.

Mandatory Entry:  Tell me your favorite water activity. Include your name and email address in the comments.

Must be at least 18 years old to enter. Winner will be selected at random. Winner will be contacted via email and will have 24 hours to respond or another winner will be selected. Transportation will not be provided. Giveaway ends at 11:59pm PST on 10/11/12.

This is not a paid post. I will receive free tickets to the event. All views expressed are the opinion of Just Say I Told You So.

Solvang, CA - Danish Capital of the USA

One of the things I love about living in California is all the nooks and crannies. One of my absolute favorite places to visit in Sunny CA is the city of Solvang.

The word Solvang is Danish for "sunny field," which describes this quaint European styled city perfectly. Founded in 1911, Solvang, CA is located in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley. Windmills, Danish bakeries, and plenty of boutiques and shops, can be found in this jewel of a city.

I recently had the pleasure of spending the weekend in Solvang with my sisters and a couple of our good friends.  Since Solvang is famous for all things Danish, stopping for Danish pancakes at Paula's Pancake House was the first thing on our to-do list.

Then we were off on a wine tour through Gold Coast Limousines.  It was nice to be driven around for the day and if you've ever been to the Santa Ynez Valley, you know that there is no shortage of wineries and tasting rooms. It doesn't matter if you like white or red, sweet or sparkling, there is something for everyone.

We stayed at the Kronborg Inn, which was very reasonably priced at $132.91/night (deal from Hotels.com) . The room was warm and inviting, plus they offer complimentary breakfast, which made it perfect for our girl's getaway weekend!

The weekend went off without a hitch. The weather was good, the wine was excellent, and the company was outstanding!

Did I mention I got to visit a lavender farm while I was there? Well that's a topic for another post, but I'm going to tell you all about it, I promise!

This is not a paid post. The wine tour and hotel accommodations were self-paid. All views expressed are the opinion of Just Say I Told You So!
