Purex plus Clorox 2 review + giveaway!

I received a free bottle of Purex from #SocialInsiders.
All views expressed are the honest opinion of Just Say I Told You So, based on product usage.

There is just nothing like the smell of clean laundry, you know? Well except for the clean part... that is absolutely better then just smelling clean! LOL

I have been a longtime Purex lover. I love the way it makes my clothes feel and smell. Purex is freshness I can feel. And Purex plus Clorox 2 is the crème de la crème... it's soooo good!

I used Purex plus Clorox 2 on a load of towels that had been used to wash the car and they came out fresh and clean as a whistle. I also used it on my bed linens. But the real test was my dark clothes, because darks seem to collect a ton of dirt, but Purex handled it!

I cannot say enough about the great scent and bright clean! Except for the fact that it is also a smart value, you get a lot of bang for your buck with Purex.

But don't take my word for it, I want you to try it for yourself. That's why I'm giving away a coupon for a free bottle to two lucky winners!

Complete the form below to enter.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

For more tips and stain fighting tricks follow Purex on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest!

Giveaway available in the United States only. The coupon will be delivered to the winner electronically via USPS. I will contact the winner via email and the winner will have 48 hours to respond or a new winner will be drawn. Rafflecopter will randomly select the winner using random.org.

My experience at Amazing Lash Studio

I received free lash extensions.
All views expressed are the honest opinion of Just Say I Told You So.

Unlike my glamorous daughter, I am not really a make-up gal. I mostly just lube my lips and keep it pushing. But sometimes I like to amp up my sexy with a smidgen of eyeliner and a dab of lip color. So when I was invited to the Amazing Lash Studio - Chino, I was a little nervous.

I have seen women with beautiful lashes, but I have also seen women who look like they're wearing spiders, you know what I mean?

So my daughter and I headed down to Chino to get our lashes done. And guess what? I kinda liked it! LOL

This is me before:

This is me after:

And this is what they look like nearly two weeks post-application:

My lashes are still going strong. Yes, I have lost several, but that's normal... because eyelashes come out anyway. I will say that false lashes seem to attract more lint. Maybe dust and lint sticks more or maybe I am just more aware than usual.

Washing and brushing them daily was recommended, so I have been doing both daily. I have found it difficult to open my eyes when their wet, because it seems like the water pools more than with my normal lashes, but it's not terribly uncomfortable.

Would I do it again?

Maybe... but if I were to do it again I would want a softer lash. These lashes are synthetic, so they are a little more hard than I would prefer.

Would I recommend Amazing Lash Studio, Chino?

Absolutely! My lashes were applied by a beautiful woman named Blessing. And yes, she lived up to her name! Her energy was wonderful. She made me feel really comfortable and relaxed. She took her time and paid attention to the details. And more importantly, she made sure that the lashes looked natural.

If you are considering lash extensions I say give them a try. And I definitely recommend that you get them done by a professional.

If you are live in Southern California, you should definitely try Amazing Lash Studio, Chino. And tell em' Stacey sent you ;-)

National Hot and Spicy Food Day with Tandoor Chef!

This is not a paid post. I was provided with coupons to purchase a free Tandoor Chef item.
All views expressed are the honest opinion of Just Say I Told You So.
August 19th is National Hot and Spicy Food Day and I'm celebrating with Tandoor Chef!

I have always been a big fan of spicy food! I love the flavors, but mostly I love the tingling sensation. That's why I enjoy Indian food so much, plus there are plenty of vegetarian options. They ofer 11 certified vegetarian appetizers and entrees - it's like veggie heaven!

Tandoor Chef has lots of traditional Indian dishes to choose from like...

  • Vegetable Pad Thai
  • Paneer Tika Masala
  • Chicken Curry
  • And so much more!
My daughter tried the Vegetable Pad Thai last night and here's what she had to say:

"It's a great alternative to the usual frozen dinner. The unique flavors danced across my palette... the spice wasn't too much, but just enough to be pleasantly surprised!"

You can find Tandoor Chef in the frozen section of your local grocer. They are also available online through Amazon.

I encourage you to visit the Tandoor Chef website, it has a ton of great resources and information about Indian cuisine and culture.

Peet's Coffee - Columbia Luminosa review

I received free samples of Columbia Luminoso from Peets Coffee & Tea.
All views expressed are the honest opinion of Just Say I Told You So.

I was a coffee junkie for a long time. Then I went off the stuff for years. But lately, I have been jonesing... bad.  I love the smell and the taste. There's just nothing like a hot cup of joe - any time of the day.

Peet's Coffee & Tea has recently introduced a new light roast called Columbia Luminosa.  This is the very first time that Peets has ventured into the light roast realm.

Let me first say that I love how the name conjures images and feelings of lightness for me. And the flavor does not disappoint. I'm so grateful to be back on the juice because Columbia Luminosa is a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y deliciouso!

The flavor is mild and slightly nutty. The finish is smooth and silky. I typically take my coffee with cream and sugar, but for the sake of exploration I tried Columbia Luminosa black as well, just to see if I could stomach it. And yes, it stands up on it's own very well, without too much bitterness + while maintaining it's quiet boldness.

I have enjoyed plenty of coffee over the years, but this one has quickly become one of my favorites.  For the past several weeks this is the ONLY coffee I have had. It's actually been quite challenging to stave off the craving!

Columbia Luminosa is available in ground packs for $14.95/lb. and K-cup packs for $13.99 as well. You can purchase in-store or online.

Be sure to follow Peets around on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Cheers to light, delicious flavor!

Fulcrum Gallery Art Review

I received free artwork to facilitate of this review. All views expressed are the honest opinion of Just Say I Told You So.
I have always enjoyed art. Art is relative. It looks different to everyone, with art you see whatever you see. And it makes you feel however you feel.

FulcrumGallery.com has a great selection of photography, modern, classical, contemporary, and traditional art available at affordable prices. Some people don't mind breaking the bank for art, but I'm not one of those people. I don't think that beauty has to cost and arm and a leg.

My favorite thing about FullcrumGallery.com is that you can choose the presentation style. So if you like prints instead of canvas, you can have it your way.

Of course choosing the style is the easy part, but choosing what kind of art you really want is something altogether different. But FulcrumGallery.com has a variety of subjects to choose from:

You can also shop by color, featured artists, and best sellers.
While I really like abstract, I like contemporary pieces even more, and if the piece includes words... well that's a home run in my book! So I'm sure you won't be surprised to know that I chose a piece of word art :-)

The quality of the canvas is exceptional, and it's perfectly stretched. I especially appreciate that it looks how I expected it to look, the site images are definitely true to form.

So if you are in the market for a piece of art... and you want to be a little conservative with regard to price, FulcrumGallery.com is a great place to start.

My Ultimate Oroweat Organic Bread Sandwich + Giveaway

I received coupons for free Oroweat Organic Bread to aid in the facilitation of this review.
All views expressed are the honest opinion of Just Say I Told You So.

As a child I loved bread more than anything else. I loved eating it toasted and plain, with peanut butter or without, as a snack or an unofficial meal. I just really, really, loved bread! And while my love for bread has never gone away, I am a lot more conscious about the kind of bread I choose (although I still indulge on the not-so-good stuff on occasion).

I recently had the pleasure of trying out Oroweat Organic Bread and I really like it! I have always enjoyed the taste and texture of their breads, but the Oroweat Organic Grains and Seeds bread is amazing!

I don't know if you've ever noticed, but sometimes organic breads come in smaller loaves, as in the width of the bread if considerably smaller than standard size. But not Oroweat Organic Bread, they give you a full-sized slice.... which makes it perfect for creating the Ultimate Sandwich!

So I was pondering what kind of deliciousness I could come up with that would give this bread its do, and I came up with this:

The Bee's Knees Breakfast Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients:
2 slices of Oroweat Organic Grains and Seeds bread
Butter (room temperature for spreading)
Grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg (scrambled omelet style)
1 slice of provolone cheese
2 slices of tomato
3 Red onion rings (raw)
1/2 avocado
Spinach
Mustard

Supplies: Baking sheet, omelet pan, and aluminum foil.

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350.

Place a piece of aluminum foil on a baking sheet.

Take two slices of Oroweat Organic Grains and Seeds bread, spread one side with butter (cover the entire slice). Place grated parmesan in a shallow plate or saucer (large enough to fit the entire slice of bread).

Press the bread (butter side down) into the parmesan until the entire surface is covered. Place onto a baking sheet, parmesan side down.

Repeat process with second slice.

Now that both pieces of bread are on the baking sheet. Butter the topside of the bread lightly. Place in the oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until cheese is golden brown.

While the bread is baking, prepare your egg. Beat the egg until thoroughly blended. Add salt + pepper (at your discretion). Pour egg mixture into heated omelet skillet. Flip the egg once it has cooked to your desire. Fold. Add a slice of provolone to the top once the omelet is cooked to your liking.

Remove bread from oven. Allow to completely cool (if you take it off right away the parmesan will stick to the aluminum foil).

Once cooled, spread mustard on the cheese-free side of the bread. Add spinach, tomatoes, onions, omelet, and avocado. Top with second slice of bread.

Voilà! Breakfast is served...

This sandwich was much more delicious than I imagined it would be!

Would you like to to make your own Ultimate Oroweat Organic Bread Sandwich? Of course you would... that's why I'm giving away coupons for a free loaf + a $25 Visa gift card  to one lucky winner.

Good luck!

LAWRY’S® Signature Southern Oven Bake Mix - Review - #GotItFree

I received free products through BzzAgent to aid in the facilitation of this review.
All views expressed are the honest opinion of Just Say I Told You So.
I love to cook, well mostly I love to see other people eating a great tasting meal. And the people I love to feed the most are also the ones I love the most. So I'm always keeping my eyes peeled for new takes on old favorites (and new favorites too). And my friends at Lawry's have introduced me to something new/old!

Lawry's Signature Southern Oven Bake Mix is a new twist on an old favorite. They've combined the zesty flavors of their original seasoned salt, with herbs, spices, and panko bread crumbs. The result is Mmm... Mmm... good!

Since I'm vegetarian, I thought I would try breading some chicken-less strips, and I was pretty impressed!

Baking chicken (or chicken-less) strips in the oven is a great alternative to fried chicken. And with Lawry's Signature Southern Oven Bake Mix you won't have to sacrifice the crunch!

You can find Lawry's products in your local grocer. Check out their website for recipe ideas and product information from the McCormick/Lawry's family of products. And be sure to follow them on Facebook too.

Big G Monster Cereal in retro packaging at Target! #PlatefullCoOp #RetroMonsterCereal #Paid

I received information and a free prize pack from General Mills through Plateful Co-op. All views expressed are the honest opinion of Just Say I Told You So.
Halloween is upon us...

Ghosts, goblins, and ghouls may be on the prowl, but Monsters have all the fun!

When I was a kid, my sister and I would beg my mother to buy General Mills Monster cereal. The boxes were so cute and I love, love, loved the marshmallows.

A few weeks ago I got these retro-boxes of Monster cereal and it took me way back! I guess I'm dating myself, huh? Yes, Monster cereal has been around for over 40 years (43 to be exact). This cereal is iconic and not just in a throwback kinda way either, this cereal is historical!

Did you know....

Count Chocula was the first chocolate-flavored cereal - eva!
Boo Berry was the first blueberry-flavored cereal - eva!
Franken Berry was the first strawberry-flavored cereal eva!

That's history right there!

If you want to travel back to a time when life was simpler and unplugging was cool (and not optional) you can get Monster cereal in retro packaging (from 1979 & 1980) at Target. And there are cut-out masks on the back of each box, instant Halloween costume! LOL In addition, you can pick up Boo Berry and Franken Berry Fruit Roll-ups and Count Chocula Krispy Treats too!

We decided to make some delicious crispy treats of our own - and they are fabulous (+ sweet)!

It's been fun having a little nostalgia in our kitchen, always nice to be a kid again!

For more information on General Mills cereals visit Hello, Cereal Lovers on Facebook. And make sure you pick up your Monster cereal at your local Target store!

Nescafe Dolce Gusto review + giveaway #Sponsored

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central for NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto, and received a promotional item to thank me for my participation. All views expressed are the honest opinion of Just Say I Told You So.

I don't quite remember when I first fell in love with coffee, but I am smitten. There is nothing like the smell of fresh brewed joe wafting through the air. And the taste... Ah! The taste of coffee is just... well, delicious!

Of course now that we are living in the age of the swanky coffeehouse, I don't brew coffee at home as much as I used to. That is until I received a Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine!

The Nescafe Dolce Gusto is a single-serve coffee machine that brews up coffeehouse worthy beverages in less than one minute (yes, it really is that fast).

What's better than a delicious frothy cup of coffee? Enjoying a delicious frothy cup of coffee in the comfort of my own home, with no muss and no fuss. My mornings are busy enough already, the Nescafe Dolce Gusto takes one more thing off my already filled-to-the-brim morning routine.

The Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine comes in several different styles and colors, to suit your taste and lifestyle. And there are 19 different hot and cold beverage varieties to choose from, that means you can change it up, if diversity is your flavor of choice.

This is my first venture into the realm of the coffee machine and I'm pretty impressed with how easy (+ quick) it is to make a cup. And since there are so many flavor choices (including decafe and non-coffee options), I can have a hot or cold beverage anytime of the day!

Look how easy it is to use:

The clean-up is almost non-existent too. No coffee grounds all over the place. No separate milk-frothing pot. Just a coffee pod (or two depending on the beverage), water, cup, and a button to push. Can you say easy?

Because I adore my readers so very much and I want you to have the opportunity to step up your home coffee game too... so I'll be giving away a Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine to one lucky winner!

The Nescafe Dolce Gusto is now available at Target.com. Be sure to visit the Nescafe Dolce Gusto website and follow on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, and YouTube.

Save-A-Lot Food Stores ~ back-2-school lunch #Sponsored

I received a free gift card in order to facilitate this review. All views expressed are the honest opinion of Just Say I Told You So.

School is back in session!

By now everyone has settled into a comfortable weekday rhythm that includes carpools, homework, lunch, and so much more. One of the things that I've always found challenging is keeping lunch interesting. When I was a kid I got so bored from eating the same stuff over and over again. Although my daughter has never given me a hard time about that, I still strive to make sure that lunch stays interesting.

I was invited to the #SaveALotInsiders program, and this past week I went shopping for lunch supplies at Save-A-Lot Food Store. The nearest store was 71 miles away from my home, so my daughter and I decided to make a day of it. On the way there we stopped for coffee and visited my mother at work, which was very nice. It was a sweltering day, so by the time we arrived to the store we needed cold drinks - STAT! Thank goodness Save-A-Lot had a fully stocked refrigerated beverage section... what a relief!

Like most stores, the weekly specials are spotlighted at the front of the store:

Since the store is on a smaller scale it's fairly easy to maneuver, but the selection is pretty limited. The produce department was extremely small. I also thought the healthy snack options was almost nonexistent. There was plenty of chips, candy, and soda. Now don't get me wrong there was also fruit juices, crackers, and fruit snacks as well, but in much smaller quantities. There were also a lot of brands that I was not familiar with, so in all honesty I was a little hesitant about choosing those items.

I was able to get a pretty good stash for the buck, but I would have preferred to have stocked up on more wholesome items. Yet and still I was able to pull together a fairly healthy portable lunchtime snack:
PB&J with Bananas, Cheez-it's, and milk
All in all my Save-A-Lot experience was not great. Even if there was a store closer to my home, I would probably not be a returning customer.

I'm required to disclose a relationship between Just Say I Told You So and Save-A-Lot. This could include the Save-A-Lot providing us w/content, product, access or other forms of payment.

mike's Hard Pink Lemonade (Sponsored)

I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for mike’s hard lemonade. I received a Circle K gift card to facilitate this review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
Sometimes my days are so jam packed that I don't remember to eat. Between work and taking care of a household, life can be pretty busy. And sometimes this mom needs a cocktail to unwind at the end of a long day! mike's Hard Pink Lemonade is perfect for those never-ending days.

I don't mind pulling out the blender and making a fruity cocktail, but when the day has been dragging on forever, I need something fast and delicious. But if I'm doing to drink a pre-made drink it needs to contain real fruit juice, and mike's Hard Lemonade is made with the juice and zest of real lemons. That's why every bottle tastes so authentically delicious!

Of course another thing that makes a pre-made fruity cocktail perfect is convenience... And it just so happens that mike's Hard Lemonade is sold at Circle K stores. That makes it easy to pick up a pack while I fill up my car (my local Circle K is also a gas station).

mike's Hard Pink Lemonade is seasonal and apparently in high demand, because my local Circle K was all out. The reason that I was determined to purchase the pink lemonade is because when I buy mike's Hard Pink Lemonade I'm also supporting breast cancer research.

mike's has been supporting the fight since 2009, and they've contributed more than $1 million dollars to breast cancer research. Several people close to me have been impacted by breast cancer, so it's an important issue to me, so I want to support the fight anyway that I can. That's why I'm thrilled to "drink pink!"

mike's Hard Pink Lemonade will only be available through October, which is breast cancer awareness month. So if you want to join the fight + drink pink... go pick up a pack today!

The Bouqs Company Flower Review

I received a free Bouq to facilitate this review. All views expressed are the honest opinion of Just Say I Told You So.
This post contains affiliate links.

I LOVE fresh flowers! In fact I buy flowers to put on the bedside table in every room, all the time. But in all my years I have never seen lovelier flowers than the ones delivered straight to my door, from the side of a volcano, by the Bouqs.com!

Day 1: out of the box
The flowers from the Bouqs are guaranteed fresh, and I don't mean fresh from the fridge either.  They don't even cut the flowers until they are ready to be sold. That means that your flowers are delivered from the farm, right to your door. They arrive in a beautiful box, ready to be arranged.

Of course receiving beautiful flowers is one thing, but getting flowers that will actually last more than a couple of day is something altogether different. I received the most gorgeous white roses that I had ever seen, or so I thought. I mean, they were beautiful straight out of the box, so I didn't think they could get any better... but they did.  Once those amazing buds opened (within 24 hours) they were even more stunning! But wait... it gets better!  The flowers lasted for more than 10 days!!!

The quality of these flowers is nothing short of amazing! That fresh from the farm to your door is not just a gimmick. I have never smelled flowers (off the stalk) that smelled so... well, fresh. They are so fresh that the water didn't even turn dark and murky after several days, which almost always happens with other flowers. I actually didn't change the water for the entire time I had them, I just added to it, and it stayed pretty clear. I don't know if I will ever order flowers from another company again, and I really mean that.

The Bouqs offers plenty of variety too! From roses to lilies, ranunculus to asters, you will definitely find something that you like.

If you need to send a bouquet, and you want to send the best, I can't recommend the Bouqs enough!

A Dozen Roses for just $40 - FREE SHIPPING! Shop The Bouqs Co. now!

Harvest Snaps Review + Giveaway

This post was created in partnership with Harvest Snaps. I have been compensated for this post. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Who doesn't love a good snack? I know I do! But now that I am older, I'm a bit more selective about the stuff I eat. And I don't know about you, but finding healthy snacks that actually taste good is not as easy as it sounds. Which is why I'm so excited about Harvest Snaps.
Harvest Snaps are a healthy alternative to chips. There are two types of snaps... Snapea Crisps and Lentil Snaps.
Snapea Crisps are made from all-natural peas, 70% worth, and the Lentil Snaps are 65% real lentils. Both include the following good-for-you-stuff:
  • Calcium
  • Iron
  • Vitamin B
  • Folate
  • Potassium
  • Dietary Fiber
Did I mention that they're also gluten-free? And if the fact that these little snaps are good for you isn't enough... they're delicious too! I mean it's pretty difficult not to devour an entire bag in one sitting!

Snapea Crisps and Lentil Snaps come in a variety of flavors, Tomato Basil is my favorite :-)

Win: I'm giving away a six-pack of Harvest Snaps to one lucky winner.

Mandatory Entry: Visit the Lunchspiration site and create your very own Bento Box. You must include your bento box link in the comments, along with your name and email address.

Glass Dharma - Earth Day Giveaway

April 22nd is Earth Day.

The older I get the more connected I feel to the Earth, the Universe, to everything...

One of the things that is vital to survival of our beautiful planet is sustainability. That means bringing our awareness to the products we use and re-purposing, reusing, + recycling, as much and as often as possible. Glass is one of the most sustainable materials there is.

Glass Dharma - the Original Glass Straw is on a mission to "create world-wide awareness about single use plastics and how damaging plastic straws are to our environment."

While plastic straws are small, collectively they make up a big problem. Imagine if every person, in every country, used one straw per day... that's over 7+ billion straws every single day. The number of straws would outgrow the population in a 24 hour period. Think about it...

We've been using Glass Dharma straws in our home for the past 2 years and I'm totally smitten! In addition to the fact that they are durable and strong (I haven't had a broken straw yet), they are also gorgeous!

Made from the strongest glass commercially available, Glass Dharma straws can be used in hot and cold beverages, and they are also microwave + dishwasher safe.

Here are a few more reasons why Glass Dharma straws trump plastic straws all-day-every-day:
  • They don't leach toxins into your beverage.
  • They come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee
  • Made by human hands in the USA
  • Lifetime breakage guarantee - they will replace broken straws forever!
If you don't have glass straws in your kitchen... it's time for an upgrade.

Glass Dharma has pledged to giveaway 1000 straws for Earth Day!

Win: enter to win a $25.00 gift code to buy your own Glass Dharma straws!

Cheerios - still healthy and delicious after all these years

I received a free box of Cheerios through Plateful-Op to help facilitate this review.

I've never been big on sugary cereal, believe it or not I liked the healthy stuff even as a child. While I didn't eat Cheerios very often as a child, I've always enjoyed it.

Now that I'm an adult, I still love Cheerios for the same reason... they're delicious and good for you too!

If you're not a cold cereal fan, you're still in luck because believe it or not there are great Cheerios recipes too! My sister has an insatiable sweet tooth, so she made these delicious Cheerios Crispy Treats:

You make them the same as Rice Krispy Treats except with Cheerios. She added dried fruits and nuts to give it a "healthy" flair.

Of course if you are into cold cereal, but like added flavor, Cheerios comes in a variety of flavors like:

  • Yogurt Burst Cheerios
  • Multi-grain Dark Chocolate Crunch - Yum
  • Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch
  • Frosted Cheerios
  • Banana Nut Cheerios
  • And more....
Cheerios is not just committed to put healthy food on the table, but also to bringing families together:

You can join the Family Breakfast Project too!

Visit the www.Cheerios.com for information, updates and coupons.
