Hellmann's NEW Organic Mayonnaise & Eggless Spread

No compensation was received for this post.
All views expressed are the honest opinion of Just Say I Told You So.
As a child I was not big on sandwiches.... but things change! Now that I'm all grown up, I can really appreciate everything that a good sandwich brings to the table. The possibilities are truly endless!

But one thing that every good sandwich needs is a condiment! Mustard, ketchup, Hellmann's Organic Mayonnaise or Eggless Spread... (hint, hint)!

I mean, who wants to eat a dry sandwich? <-- wait, don't answer that!

Hellmann's has been doing mayonnaise right for 100 years! And now they have added Organic Mayonnaise and Eggless Spread to their legacy.

Hellmann's Organic Mayonnaise is perfect for the sandwich lover who appreciates rich and creamy flavor, but also wants quality organic ingredients, like cage-free eggs, expeller-pressed oil, and no artificial flavors or preservatives. And this organic deliciousness comes in three varieties: Original, Roasted Garlic, and Spicy Chipotle.

And for the sandwich connoisseur who is in search of eggless options, due to dietary limitations, well Hellmann's has something for you too! Their new Carefully Crafted Eggless Spread is egg free and it is also free of artificial colors and flavors too! As if that's not enough, it's also GMO free as well!

Here are some recipes for your sandwich loving pleasure:

Both varieties are available in 15 & 24 oz jars,
In stores now.

My Ultimate Oroweat Organic Bread Sandwich + Giveaway

I received coupons for free Oroweat Organic Bread to aid in the facilitation of this review.
All views expressed are the honest opinion of Just Say I Told You So.

As a child I loved bread more than anything else. I loved eating it toasted and plain, with peanut butter or without, as a snack or an unofficial meal. I just really, really, loved bread! And while my love for bread has never gone away, I am a lot more conscious about the kind of bread I choose (although I still indulge on the not-so-good stuff on occasion).

I recently had the pleasure of trying out Oroweat Organic Bread and I really like it! I have always enjoyed the taste and texture of their breads, but the Oroweat Organic Grains and Seeds bread is amazing!

I don't know if you've ever noticed, but sometimes organic breads come in smaller loaves, as in the width of the bread if considerably smaller than standard size. But not Oroweat Organic Bread, they give you a full-sized slice.... which makes it perfect for creating the Ultimate Sandwich!

So I was pondering what kind of deliciousness I could come up with that would give this bread its do, and I came up with this:

The Bee's Knees Breakfast Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients:
2 slices of Oroweat Organic Grains and Seeds bread
Butter (room temperature for spreading)
Grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg (scrambled omelet style)
1 slice of provolone cheese
2 slices of tomato
3 Red onion rings (raw)
1/2 avocado
Spinach
Mustard

Supplies: Baking sheet, omelet pan, and aluminum foil.

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350.

Place a piece of aluminum foil on a baking sheet.

Take two slices of Oroweat Organic Grains and Seeds bread, spread one side with butter (cover the entire slice). Place grated parmesan in a shallow plate or saucer (large enough to fit the entire slice of bread).

Press the bread (butter side down) into the parmesan until the entire surface is covered. Place onto a baking sheet, parmesan side down.

Repeat process with second slice.

Now that both pieces of bread are on the baking sheet. Butter the topside of the bread lightly. Place in the oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until cheese is golden brown.

While the bread is baking, prepare your egg. Beat the egg until thoroughly blended. Add salt + pepper (at your discretion). Pour egg mixture into heated omelet skillet. Flip the egg once it has cooked to your desire. Fold. Add a slice of provolone to the top once the omelet is cooked to your liking.

Remove bread from oven. Allow to completely cool (if you take it off right away the parmesan will stick to the aluminum foil).

Once cooled, spread mustard on the cheese-free side of the bread. Add spinach, tomatoes, onions, omelet, and avocado. Top with second slice of bread.

VoilĂ ! Breakfast is served...

This sandwich was much more delicious than I imagined it would be!

Would you like to to make your own Ultimate Oroweat Organic Bread Sandwich? Of course you would... that's why I'm giving away coupons for a free loaf + a $25 Visa gift card  to one lucky winner.

Good luck!

Creative Bioscience - 90-day Challenge

Most people make New Years resolutions promising to make changes in their lives, but that's never been me. I try to implement lifestyle changes as I see fit, but of course sticking to them is another issue.

Now that I'm approaching 40 I have become more mindful about my overall lifestyle.  Which is why I will be taking the Creative Bioscience 90-day challenge.  Over the course of 90 days I will be taking Green Coffee Bean Pure Extract to help me burn some of my extra "fluff."

Creative Bioscience has a variety of diet and weight loss supplements. Of course there is no substitute for hard work, I agree, but we can all use a jump start from time to time.  I will be posting once a month to let you know how things are going. Maybe my success will inspire you :-)

Images from Creative Bioscience. I will receive a 90 day supply from Creative Bioscience. My participation is voluntary. All views expressed are the opinion of Just Say I Told You So.

5-hour Energy Review

It can take a lot of energy to get through the day. You've got a to-do list that's a mile long, places to go, people to see, and deadlines to meet. You'll find yourself running low on energy by noon, if you're not careful. You might need something to help get you through the day so you can do what you need to do.

5-hour Energy is a liquid energy "shot," that contains a blend of B-vitamins, amino acids, and nutrients.

A few 5-hour facts:
  • Contains about as much caffeine as a cup of coffee
  • It's sugar free
  • No herbal stimulants
  • Only 4 calories
My friend Heak starts to drag about mid-day, the trouble is he really likes to do things big! Heak loves snow boarding, hang gliding, and burning up the road on his motorcycle.  So when the opportunity to review 5-hour Energy came up, I thought about Heak immediately!

Here is what Heak had to say:

How effective?
It’s very effective, it's only one shot so it doesn’t make me bloated, like drinking a can of red bull or monster.

What do you like about  5hr?
Since it's small I can easily fit it in my pocket just in case I need to take a shot and it doesn’t taste bad.

How long does it last?
I don’t know... maybe last an hour or 2.

Do you still drink coffee?
Yes, I still drink coffee.

At what time during the day do you find its best to take the 5hr Energy?
Usually after lunch so around 1:30 – 2pm

How did you know 5hr Energy was for you?
Cause it works….

Which flavor do you prefer, as far as taste (Berry or Pomegranate)?
I like both so it’s hard to pick….berry

So there you have it. While 5-hour Energy didn't last for five hours, Heak still feels strongly about the product.

If you could use a bit more energy to get through the day, maybe you should give 5-hour Energy a try for yourself. You can purchase 5-hour Energy just about anywhere (drugstore, market, convenient store, etc).

You can also like 5-hour Energy on Facebook, follow on Twitter, and check out the 5-hour Energy blog.

Click here to vote for me to win the $500 5-hour Energy Treat Yourself Visa gift card sweepstakes!

No compensation was received for this post. I received a free sample of this product through Smiley 360. All opinions expressed are the opinion of Heak Keo and Just Say I Told You So.

Harmony Valley Vegetarian Mix - Review

I have been a vegetarian for many years. While I don't really miss meat itself, there are some meat-inspired dishes that I still appreciate, hamburgers are at the top of the list. Forever on the prowl for the next best veggie burger, we've tried just about everything out there. Some are too rubbery, while others can be likened to cardboard.  We've made up recipes on our own, using everything from beans to brown rice. So when I was contacted to review Harmony Valley Vegetarian mixes, I jumped at the chance.

Harmony Valley, which is based in Fort Collins, CO, was launched in 2009.  The goal of the company is to provide healthy vegetarian/vegan food alternatives.  The company is not just health conscious, but environmentally conscious as well.

Harmony Valley Vegetarian mixes come in Hamburger and Sausage style and are super easy to make. Just add water, refrigerate for 15 minutes, and you're good to go! These vegetarian mixes can be used as a supplement to any meal that would normally call for ground beef.

We decided to make a Cranberry Burger with Tuscan Cinnamon cheese - weird combination I know, but the result was heavenly!  The texture and flavor is spot on.

Harmony Valley will now be a staple at my house, it's so versatile that the recipe possibilities are truly endless.  Spaghetti and Meatballs, Tacos, Stuffed Pasta Shells, Burritos....I could go on and on.

Even if you're not a vegetarian you'll be sure to love Harmony Valley Vegetarian Mixes - give it a try!

Visit the Harmony Valley website for recipe ideas and where to buy their products in your area. Follow them on Twitter and "like" them on Facebook too!

Real Seal Appeal - Collect seals and help schools

Everyone has been a victim of the budget crisis, schools in particular. Every year schools are scraping to make sure that they have the tools they need to teach our children. Education is without a doubt the foundation to success.  It is every one's responsibility to make sure that our children are given every opportunity to flourish.

Real Seal Appeal is a program that has been launched by Real California Milk to support schools in California.  The program will award up to $2 million dollars in cash, prizes, and books to California Schools. International No Diet Day

Today is International No Diet Day!

International No Diet Day was created in 1992 my Mary Evans Young, a British feminist who wanted to promote healthy eating, while respecting the fact that we all have different body types.  Mary herself  is a recovered anorexic and was alarmed at the lengths that people, especially women, would go to lose weight. After watching a TV program about women getting their stomach staples and hearing about a 15 year old girl who committed suicide because she could no longer stand being fat, Mary decided that something needed to be done - International Diet Day (INDD) was born.

Mary Evans Young

In honor of INDD don't worry about dieting today, just enjoy living! While food is obviously essential to the nourishment of our bodies, unhealthy dieting can be detrimental to our mental and physical health.

Today is a great day to practice awareness.  Pay attention to the way your body feels when you eat. Allow the flavors to dance around your mouth and linger on every single taste bud.  For one day allow yourself to enjoy the experience of eating.  Don't overindulge, over-think, or judge yourself, not today.  Just for today...enjoy!
