I have been blogging for several years now, but that's not all I do. I'm pretty sure I've never mentioned it here before... but I am also a Connection Coach.
With the holidays approaching fast, I thought I would give you an opportunity to do something radically different this year! In an effort to minimize the expansion of your waist, while reducing the clutter between your ears, I challenge you to take part in The Connect-2-Joy Diet.
The Connect-2-Joy Dietis a 21-day untraditional diet, that consists of daily activities designed to cultivate more joy in your life.
How it works:
You will be given a task every day for 21 consecutive days.
I will send out an email each week (Saturdays at 12:00am EST) outlining the tasks for that week.
There will be a private Facebook group so that we can connect with one another, share our joy, and hold each other accountable.
Every time you post a picture of yourself doing the daily activities on Facebook or Instagram using the #Connect2Joy hashtag (You can also send your pics via email if you prefer), you’ll be entered in the weekly prize drawing. Be sure to tag me in your photos so that I can give you proper credit.
There will be a prize drawing at the end of weeks 1 & 2 for active participants. And a special grand prize at the end of the challenge. The more you participate the greater your chances of winning ;-)
The Connect-2-Joy Diet begins on November 1st. Click here to sign up.
I would love it if you shared the challenge with your friends… I’ve even made it easy for you to spread the word!
This diet is all about joy! It's about reconnecting with you + your life. 21 days - that's only three short weeks. You've got the time, so don't make any excuses. It's going to be great fun! And it's absolutely free! #Connect2Joy http://wp.me/P2udKF-IJ

Since I turned 40, I have totally stepped up my fitness game. I don't know if I've simply become hyperaware of my mortality or if subtle aches of being 40-ish have me on edge... probably both. Either way I exercise more now than I ever have in my adult life. And while I don't think I will ever be the type of person that loves to work out, I am now the kind of person who works out regularly. When it comes to working out, convenience has to be the most important thing. For me, exercise has to be accessible and easy. And that goes for all tools and equipment too. That's why I think that Sprint Fit Live is so cool.
Sprint Fit Live is not just an app, it's a "complete mobile health and fitness package." And to make the experience even more comprehensive, Sprint has partnered with Samsung, Under Armour, and MapMyFitness to introduce the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport!
The Galaxy S5 Sport is not your average cellphone. It allows you to keep track of your workouts, it monitors your heart rate, and tracks your progress. MapMyFitnessis like a GPS system that tracks your fitness activities like: distance, duration, speed, pace, elevation, calories burned, and the route you traveled. A few weeks ago I had an opportunity to participate in a fitness demonstration at a local Sprint store. So I was able to witness and experience Sprint Fit Live and the Galaxy S5 Sport first hand.
The ability to track your progress on the Samsung Gear Fitwas my favorite part. I know how much I "guess" my progress, which means I spend a lot of time giving myself more credit than I deserve for progress that I may or may not have achieved. But these savvy tools eliminate the guess work altogether.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport is exclusive to Sprint. And they're offering some very cool purchase incentives:
MapMyFitness - free for one year.
Sprint Fit Live - free
Spotify Premium - free for 6 or 3 months
Samsung Gear Fit- $50 off
If you've been putting off making exercise a regular part of your life, maybe setting yourself up with tools of success is just what you need!

Every once in while a new book comes out that you know is going to strike a chord with just about every mom you know...this is it....“Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms”
Don't Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms by Kristine Carlson is by far one of the most inspiring books I have ever read. I am always looking for ways to renew and replenish myself, so that I can continue to be the example of what I want to see in my daughter and in others.
The ins and outs of daily living can be trying at times, this is especially true for mothers. We are the backbone to our households and to society at large. We are looked to for advice and guidance. We are responsible for molding, shaping, and developing the lives of other human beings. We are heavily relied upon, giving more of ourselves each and every day, and sometimes taking very little.
Don't Sweat gives advice to mothers in small digestible bites, 100 short chapters of life altering "aha's." Kristine Carlson covered all the bases, from blended family to sex talks, it's like a mom bible! My favorite chapters include "The Power of Prayer Is In The Asking" and "Choose Happiness And Peace Over Stress."
Kristine touched on so many things that I have personally dealt with in my own life. Now that my daughter is a nearly 17, I realize that my role as a mother is changing, but will never end. Her growing up has forced me to grow in ways that I never would have imagined. So operating from a place of peace and understanding is more important than ever, but is also very challenging at times. I am always reminding myself to breathe and Don't Sweat reminded me of why my breath is so valuable.
Don't Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms is for all mothers. Whether you are a new mom or the mother of adults, you will benefit from owning this book.
About the author:

Every human being has needs and desires. Yearnings often run so deep that they cannot be silenced and must be fulfilled. While you may have to restructure your needs to accommodate those around you, they should not be suppressed.
If a relationship or situation demands that you sacrifice the very essence of you - reevaluate. When something is for you, really for you, it will never demand that you cease to be.
There will be times when you will be called upon to rise to your highest self, but that is not a sacrifice...it's an honor. When you are living in truth, you will know the difference, without a doubt.
The best way to invite goodness into your life is to be the example of what it looks like. Live each day striving to be the best version of you. If there is someone or something that does not contribute to your elevation - walk away.
